Good Mexican food. This was right next to the Hampton Inn I stayed at so there was a 15% off your bill if you tell them you stayed at the Hampton Inn. The decor was really colorful and there were quite a lot of people there around 7pm. The first time I was here, I met up with 3 other coworkers and ordered the Carne Asada ($20.90) from the Especiales De La Case menu section. The chips and salsa we got before our food came out was ehhh. The salsa was bland and the chips were normal just like any others. I'm not sure how they prepared that batch of salsa but it wasn't good. Our food came out in a few minutes later and my Carne Asada had a lot of food. Everything complemented each other which was probably why they were together on the dish to begin with and they all tasted good to me. The second time I was here with about 23 other coworkers, I ordered the Queso Flameado ($11.95). The chips and salsa was a lot better than the first time I went here. The salsa wasn't bland and it was more flavorful this time around. The Queso Flameado was pretty good, but I ran out of tortillas. There was a lot of food and I even loaded each tortilla with a lot but still ran out of tortillas. There was karaoke outside until they close so also a good place to drink and sing. The waiter we had was nice and helpful. Good food here and I'd come back again if I was in the area.

Actually writing review on the brand new Nicky's at Bossier Downs I was there last night and it was packed not really impressed with the food nor the decor. I truly think chimi v's is much better. Food is great at chimi v's and the decor is truly creative. I'll be there in a few hours for lunch even though I have to unhook and bobtail there it's worth it. I did not care much for the salsa it had no kick and chips were thick and cold I prefer a thin hot chip for my dipping. Not to be petty but a 7$ drink in a plastic cup come on. So it's chimi v's for me give it a try folks.

The service was mediocre. The salsa needed a few more whirrs in the blender. I ordered the carnitas. I make amazing carnitas at home, but I wasn't expecting that caliber from Nicky's. What I got was worse. Large chunks of completely un-flavorful pork. There was about a tablespoon of guacamole on my plate on a bed of shredded lettuce, to make it look like more, I suppose. And the tortillas were very dough-y, tasting of raw flour. My husband had crawfish enchiladas. I was going to taste them, but the smell was too fishy. He did not enjoy them either. We only ate here because we had a gift card. We will not be coming back.

Nicky's on East Texas....not worth the drive/wait/$$/time. We had a party of 9. They sat is quickly. That was about the whole extent of the "good" from this place. I live in Texas and was here visiting family. Next time I'm in town I will go out of my way to avoid eating here. The Taco Bell across the street would have been better. It took approximately 45-60 minutes to get our food. When they brought it out there were two people that didn't not get theirs. One of them still had not received theirs at the time they started to take the other plates. I was expecting piping hot just came out from the cheese melter plate is too hot to touch like I get in Texas. Well this was nothing close to what I got. It was about the perfect temperature to start growing bacteria. Not cold, not hot, just there. I would have sent it back but our waitress was not coming out checking on us. The location is new and should be able to accommodate the menu and the seating capacity, but they can't. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I would put zero or negative stars if I could.

I'm writing about the new one at the Down's. Don't waste your time or money going there. Food was terrible and cold It's bad when their beans was just like they took them out of can and didn't even heat them Only thing that was good was our waiter and the star is for him. This wasn't a nice Mother's Day gift at all.

Imagine this: you've been in the car for hours and you've just checked in to the new (and quite lovely) Hampton Inn in Bossier City. You see a Tex-Mex place next to the hotel and think "awesome - enchiladas and a margarita .... Great end to a long day!". If you are here and you think these thoughts do yourself a favor - go to the supermarket, get a Corona and an El Patio tv dinner and nuke that sucker in the Hampton's microwave. You'll have a more enjoyable, more sanitary and more delicious dinner than you'd have had at Nicky's. From the filth on the floor at the bar to the bartender's obsession with her hair; to all the servers running around doing nothing to the chips and salsa that never appeared; this was a disaster from the beginning. The margarita with salt delivered in the STYROFOAM CUP should have been my first sign - but they were gracious enough to give me a real glass. Of course, I had to beg for her to take my order - but who can blame her, the mere brain activity of managing the bar and entering orders was obviously a distraction to her hair and a bother to her brain. She wasn't rude, which is about the nicest thing I have to say about this place.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
